Nathan's Preschool Graduation

Nathan graduated last night, complete with pomp and circumstance, a cap, and a gown. The teacher read a little thing about each of the kids when they grow up. When Nathan grows up he wants to be a policeman and will make $2.00. He wants to get married and have 4 kids both girls and boys. He also wants to live in Atlanta in an apartment.

The Boys

Nathan is almost done with t-ball! Alex is sad, but I am glad. This weekend we had three games in a row and it was just plum hot at all of them. Yesterday he got a hit and scored. He has really learned a lot from all of this, so for that I am grateful. Also, Blake hasn't had an accident for 4 days now and ........the bed was dry when he woke up this morning! No pull-ups = potty trained in a week!

Stop....Potty Time!

Blake has been doing a marvelous job with the potty. The first time he went he said, "My pee-pee's working!" (He had tried going before this and never could get any out). He also said that Jesus would help him go potty. The first 2 days were a little shaky, but yesterday and today have been great! I haven't put him in pull-ups at all and no diaper since Monday morning. He tells me now when he has to go, so that is huge to me! He almost slept through the night without an accident because he was dry until 5:30 yesterday morning. I think he will get the hang of it in a few weeks.....until then lots and lots of laundry!
Saw these floors at Anthropologie when we were in Raleigh and I love the width of them. I would just want them a dark coffee color. Plus, they already look beaten up, so what damage can my boys do to them, right?
I love this picture. Nathan actually took it. I got this flower for mother's day and he was taking lots of pictures and this one turned out awesome!

Green in the Tooth

The other night we had noodles with herbs. Shortly after we ate, Blake smiled and I noticed he had a piece of parsley stuck to his tooth. In other news, I am working on Blake going pee-pee in the potty. It is a lot more difficult with him. Nathan was sooo easy. He was completely potty trained in a week (dry at night and all). Blake just isn't getting it, but this is only day 2. I will continue to work with him but I am already ready to give up and just keep him in diapers forever! I am worn out and sick of laundry already.

Downtown Asheville

This weekend a great friend came into town and we had to give him the downtown Asheville experience. We went to Tupelo Honey and it was very tasty. We ate outside, the weather was perfect, and had some crazy people walk by dressed up as who knows what. After we ate we went over to the drum circle and saw some other strange sights. Oh, downtown Asheville, why are you so random?

My Estate Sale Find

I have been wanting some "vintage" table clocks for about a year now and have kept my eye out for them at every goodwill, yard sale, and consignment store I hit up. I found these at an estate sale yesterday and they were just what I was looking for. I got both of them for $6. The funny thing is I was telling my mother in law about that I found some vintage alarm clocks and when I showed her and Alex they laughed and said that Alex had those in his room growing up. It is amazing that something Alex had in his room growing up in now "vintage". Are we really that old already?!?

Oh...These Boys!

They melt your heart one minute and the next minute you want to run away, run far far away! Things have been a bit crazy around our house the past few weeks, hence the lack of blog posts. All I have to do next week is really work with Blake on using the potty. He has been really wanting to go, but never gets anything out. I kept my schedule clear for the whole week in hopes that Blake will be potty trained by the end of the week. Nathan did it in a week but he was a few months older, so hopefully it works out....I mean.....it will work out dang it!

Raleigh

Alex and I went to Raleigh this week, just the two of us. He had a class for work. We left the boys at Alex's parents house and I had a nice relaxing time in the hotel by myself. Although I came back with a cold/allergies or something, I still felt somewhat rested. We went to some great restaurants with our friends Joe and Chelsea. One of the places we went was amazing and we were there for like 3 hours and ate a crazy lot of food. And there we sit on a joggling board outside of the restaurant.....I am glad I brought my sunglasses.
Alex should have brought his sunglasses too...
Yep....it is burning his eyes.
On another note, Nathan brought this home for me from school for mother's day.
What's funny is that Alex almost always makes his breakfast.

80's Dance

Last night Alex and I were asked to chaperone a church dance and it just so happens that it was an 80's themed dance. It also just so happens that only like 5 people dressed up. O well, we were pretty rockin in our 80's gear! We also had some sweet moves.... I guess. Oh, and when we were getting ready, Alex came out dressed and asked how he looked and Nathan said, "Not good for going out with mom." He also asked me why I had a knot on my shirt. It was kind of hard to explain the 80's to him.

Strawberry Picking

We went picking on Monday and we have already eaten all the strawberries. We spent $8 on that big box of them. The boys also got a belly full of berries while we were picking as well and that was free. We hope to go back next week because we neeeeeeeed more!

Before Church

O ya...

....There is a sock in my bun. My cool sister showed me forever ago. It is such an easy do. You take a sock and cut it up (I am sure you can find how to cut it on the internet somewhere), put your hair in a pony and roll the sock up into a bun. Sometimes I don't even need any bobby pins. Sometimes I need 1 or 2 bobby pins. So easy.....go do it...you will feel cool.

Game Ball

On Saturday, Nathan had a baseball game. I stayed home so Blake could nap and wouldnt'cha know it but Nathan decides he doesn't need to hit off the tee anymore. He has hit off the tee at every game but when he practices, he doesn't use the tee. He rocked it too! Apparently he had his best game ever but me, lamo mom, missed it! O, ya, and he also got the game ball or player of the game award for doing such a good job! I was very proud of him.

I'm in love, I'm in love...

...and I don't care who knows it! Found this amazing world market version of nutella, but better! It is like nutella on steroids...like a party in your mouth...like good!
As for the minestrone soup...well I made it the other day and it looked pretty and I had to take a picture.
