Nutella Oatmeal!!!!!!!!

Yesterday morning I was talking with my mom about oatmeal (ya, we talk about random things). We were discussing ways to change it up a bit. She mentioned adding cocoa powder to oatmeal and then I said, or what about NUTELLA! After that I couldn't wait for morning to come. This morning finally came and I made it.

Quick oats, scoop of nutella....

milk ( I used vanilla soymilk, but whatever)....

microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds...and add more milk to your liking and eat.it.up!

Bannan's would be a good addition as well.

Blake's New Room

Okay, so I know this doesn't scream 2 year old boy, but I am a fan of un-themed rooms. So here it is! There are still a few things I am going to do (spray painted lamp and bedding not completed).

We got Nathan a big boy bed when he turned two and Blake turns two in a week! We gave it to him a little early because he kept coming out of his bed at night and then waking up really early (like 5:30) in the morning. So far, the bed has fixed this problem. The boys both woke up at 7 this morning... hallelujah!

The bed is the same bed as Nathan's. I found it on craigslist just like Nathan's and I did the same work on it just like Nathan's, minus the creepy mask over my face and my neighbors laughing and pointing. I fixed it up at Alex's parents house. I think I talked the people on craigslist down to letting me buy the bed for $30 if I remember correctly. Pretty sweet huh?

I spray painted all the picture frames white. The biggest one is the one I got at Goodwill last week for $6. The others are ones I had laying around. I did decide to paint the owl white. Even though it was only $0.50 I really didn't want to but I had to because the frames were white. Anyway, the room isn't quite done, but mostly done. The boys are happy to now have 3 big beds to jump on.

Nathan's Bro's

The other day Nathan really opened up about school. I think he was just in a talkative mood or something. He was telling me about his friends. His best friend/girlfriend is of course Abigail, but he was telling me that Henry was his buddy and Eli and Lorenzo were his "bro's". He said it so nonchalantly too.

Also, the boys were chasing me around tonight before bed trying to lick me like dogs. Nathan wouldn't get his jammies on and I told him that I would bite him like a dog if he didn't get his jammies on right away. Then I bent over to pick up some toys and the next thing I knew Blake bit me in the butt. It hurt pretty bad.

Here is a picture of one of the rings from my grandmother. She gave me a lot and this one is one of my favorites. Yes, I know I have grandma hands. I always have and I always will.

UPDATE:

This was taken on the phone, so I forgot that I did this yesterday. I ended up in the dryer because we played a rousing game of hide and seek right before bed time.

I also forgot that I went to goodwill yesterday and found this frame for Blake's room for $6. The picture is pretty cool in it as well, but I just got it for the frame. I think I will spray paint it white. I am going to do a collage of frames on Blake's wall like I did on Nathan's.

But I think they will all be white.

Here is Alex the day he started his CNA class. It is required as part of his administrator training. It is weird for him to come home from work in scrubs. It is also weird to see him washing his hands in a fancy way and studying.

What I Have Been Up to Today

....and last night.

I was reading this cool book my friend recommended on the couch and I was freezing. I went to get in bed to read and found this lovely note on my pillow. I found out today that he wants a donut from Krispy Kreme every morning before work. Just kidding, he really does love me, but I am not kidding that he wants a donut everyday... but he hasn't gotten any, or at least I don't think he has.

Yes, my glasses are fake. I got them at Wal-mart for $3. I just think I am cool and want to be like my sister. I know in her head she is saying, "copy cat, boppy bat". Anyway....during Blake's nap time Nathan and I hang out. We start off by practicing reading and writing for like 15 minutes and then he colors or something and we play with legos. There is a lot of shooting and stealing of space ships involved.

Also, at the moment I am taking a break from a new project. This month Blake turns two, he will then move into a bed identical to Nathan's, which means I need a duvet cover for Blake's comforter. I am a picky person sometimes. I have this vision of a duvet cover in my mind and I can't find it anywhere, so I decided to try and make one. I bought two queen flat sheets (on clearance for $6 something at Target) and some RIT dye. I am going to do (or attempt to do) a plaid type of pattern on each sheet and sew them together to make a duvet cover. Wish me luck!

Different Take on Family Pictures

New Year's Eve day was so pretty and nice outside. We went out and took a few pictures and this is what we came up with.

It looks like I am on stilts in this picture.

The sky was soooo blue, I loved it! It felt like Fall.

Blake as Batman

Throughout the day, Nathan and Blake both bring me paperclips to create their blankies into capes. They each have a blast.

Nathan Workin It

At the bookstore on Saturday Nathan was looking pretty cute and I just had to take some pics.

Empty House

We put away all of our Christmas stuff yesterday and the house was seriously looking empty. It was sad because I miss all my Christmas stuff, but joyful because it feels organized, clean, and clutter free. I also missed my blue jar collection. Here they are:

Also, I found strawberries on sale at the store. Nathan had some fresh strawberries for the first time in a while and he came running in the room to tell me that he was going to pray to Jesus to say thank you for how good they were.
I guess it is all about finding joy in the little things during these cold next few months that await.
