From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere.
Nathan looks good, but he could look better because my crazy hair skills are highly lacking. It is hard, because everyday I try to not make hair crazy...so anyway. In the other picture I thought Nathan was the cat in the hat, but he quickly corrected me on that one. And again, my crazy sock skills aren't the best. I don't like wearing socks, so I wouldn't really know how to do 'em up. So we threw some buttons, and a little coloring, and some ribbon and there ya go....crazy socks.
Since the weather has been so warm lately, we have some seriously loud frogs in our backyard and they go to town with the noise at night. Well, apparently Blake thinks they are owls and Blake is also scared of them.

Nathan Funnies
You know how kids say the darndest things? Well Nathan is one of those kids. Here are a few from the past 2 days:
-"Mom, what year were you borned? 1861 or somethin?"
-Nathan eating a healthy snack of granola, soy milk yogurt, and strawberries says, "Mom I am going to fast food from candy." I say, "what do you mean?" After a little discussion he finally says, "I mean I want to fast from candy. I will poop all the candy out and all the good healthy food will stay in my body."
-I was playing soccer with Nathan and he says in a very encouraging voice, "Mom you are really getting good at playing soccer".

Spring Is In the Air
These two skirts are my freakin sweet finds at Goodwill when I found the globe. They are clearly old and to me, the older the better. The periwinkle belt is not part of the skirt. It goes with a shirt I got last year. I had to resew all new buttons on the blue skirt. But it only took 15 minutes and 37 cents, plus I had to rummage through the random button bin at foam and fabric outlet, but Nathan had a great time.
I can't wait for spring to get here so that I can wear them. Although, it would probably be acceptable to wear them now, it is just too cold.
P.S.- Sorry I didn't iron my white shirt.... I hate ironing. It is not so much the task of ironing, but the task of pulling all the ironing equipment out.

Sooooo I Went to Goodwill Today
I didn't really have anything to do today, so I took Blake to Goodwill. As soon as I walked in I saw it....a freakin awesome globe. I didn't know how much it was, nor did I care, even though I knew it wouldn't be that expensive. It ended up being $6! I was so excited because there is a globe just like this one at Pottery Barn for $30. Booya! I also found lots of other stuff, but I settled with two spring type skirts. I know they are old lady skirts because of the tags...but aren't those the best anyway? One is missing a button, but it is an easy matcher. I will post them eventually. I love me some Goodwill! Oh, and Blake was quite well behaved in there, especially after he found himself a sword to carry around...don't worry I gave him some hand sani when we left!
Blake had to have his picture taken while I was snapping photos of the globe. He bonked his head on the coffee table. Why is it that my kids always have bruises on their heads and wild hair dang it!
Just another random one of Blake.
Soooo...for Blakes room I was going to spray paint a lamp turquoise buuuut the lamp shades ended up costing more than this lamp that I found at Target on clearance, so I got this one instead. Oh, and that red blob is an angry bird, drawn by Nathan.
And this is just the new cute picture that Nathan painted for Blake. It is supposed to be Simba (from the Lion King), whom Blake loves dearly and tries to be like almost every day.

Some Day
Some day soon we will have a house of our own, not a rental. Hopefully that some day will be early next year. Even though it is somewhat far away I have started getting lots of ideas. Lately I have been getting pretty excited about this and when I get excited I start to day dream. Here are some of my day dreams I want for my future house.
I love this kitchen for some many reasons. The first is the turquoise lights. Then the white countertops, the white cabinets, the window cabinets, and the dark floors.
I also love this couch from pottery barn. It is not your normal couch and I really love it because it is slip covered. With two (possibly more) boys I don't think I would want cream though.
I am in love with this chair from crate and barrel, just not the price. I am sure I could find something similar for a little bit cheaper down the road. I want two of them to go on either end of the coffee table and to go with the couch.
I have been wanting this bed for us from crate and barrel for a while now. When we first got married we got a bedroom set from Ikea and I am not sure how much longer this will last. I am addicted now to metal bed frames to go with a dark wood dresser and nightstands. I think I am so addicted because I don't like a set, it is just too matchy matchy for me.
Here is the dresser from crate and barrel. It has two matching nightstands that I would also like.
I love these metal stools to add different textures to a room. These would go in the kitchen at the bar.
I love this chair from Anthropologie, but I could totally find a plain old chair at a yard sale and paint it turquoise, no biggy. I just had to show you this really cute one!
So here are a few of my favorite things, I am sure I will share more in the future.
Also, we all got ready for church today and braved the really really cold weather (so sad, b/c it has been so warm here, so warm in fact flowers have already started blooming). The boys were great during sacrament meeting, but then Nathan said he didn't feel good. So I take Nathan home just before he gets to go into his class and as soon as we get home he says he feels fine. How is it that my 4 year old already knows how to get out of church!!!!!! I thought this wasn't supposed to happen until he was like 16 or something?!?!

Jingle Bells and Super Bowl
We got invited to our neighbors super bowl party this past weekend. I had some of these football pretzels and threw in a rolo between them. Fun super bowl treat. Just in case you haven't already seen how to do it on pintrest, here ya go: Place the pretzels on a cookie sheet with a rolo on top. Bake at 350 for 5 minutes. Pull out of oven and place another pretzel on top. Cool and eat!
As for the Jingle bells part of the title....Blake has been singing the "jingle all the way" part of the song tonight for some reason. It was pretty funny. He just gets "twoier" and "twoier" every day. Nathan luckily has started phasing out of his grumpiness and has gotten really really enjoyable. When something happens (that he would usually throw a total fit about) that is not in his favor, he responds with a calm response or just deals with it. This has been going on now for about a month. Longest stretch of him acting this pleasant way probably since he was 18 months old! He is also really picking up reading level 1 books. I am really starting to like this age/phase which he is in.
Alex has only one day left of his CNA clinical and then has 3 days left of class instruction. I think he is excited. He has truly gained a great appreciation for all the hard work those CNA's do. In case some of you don't know, Alex is taking a CNA class as part of his training to become a skilled nursing home administrator.

The Boys Lately
Nathan looking cute like spiderman.
Blake also likes to look like spiderman. This was taken on the way home one night. I look back and Blake is just sitting there awake with this over his face.
And this is also Blake just looking cute one night before bed.
I know this has nothing to do with the boys, but I had to throw it in there. This is another ring from my grandmother. Yes, I know my hands are dry....again.

Blakey's 2nd Birthday!
On Saturday we did a small little family birthday party for Blake. I made some mexican food and chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes (6 sticks of butter in those bad boys people...but worth every stick!). Blake got a new bed, a remote control car, fisher price guys, star wars guys, hulk, and thor.
On Blake's real birthday, we didn't do much during the day b/c Nathan had been sick the night before. I think it ended up being drainage, so we decided to go out for dinner. We had a gift card to Cracker Barrel and since that is Blake's favorite place to eat, we went there for dinner. Blake ate mac and cheese, grilled chicken and carrots. They sang to him and brought him out a HUGE piece of chocolate cake with 2 scoops of ice cream. He had the biggest smile on his face. We then went to Toys R us with a gift card he got in the mail and got him a lego batman set. Nathan paid for the other half of it with his piggy bank money.
By the way, Blake is officially two, he was a little hellian today. I hope he is just getting his two year molars in b/c I don't think I can handle much more of this mess!
